The 34km Marathon Derwent River Big Swim is now open for 2023/2024 season.

The team at the Derwent River Big swim have been in consultation with the Department of State of growth in Tasmania this year regarding getting an exemption to allow swimmers to swim under the new temporary Bridgewater Bridge . The Department of State Growth Tasmania has now come to the decision that it will allow swimmers to swim under the new temporary bridge whilst construction is still underway on the new Bridgewater Bridge.

What does this now mean:
The Derwent River Big Swim can start taking bookings for the 2023/2024 season and beyond

          - read the swim rules

          - consult with an approved swim pilot

          - Register and pay your registration fee

If you have already booked your swim for the 2023/2024 season and was postponed until a later date, contact your pilot who you booked your swim with.

This will be a great opportunity to be a part of Australia’s great Australian Triple Crown of Ultra Marathon Swimming.   Follow the Australian Triple Crown of Ultra Marathon Swimming on Facebook

Since the season has been shortened there may be some limitations on how many swimmers can be registered for the season.  No doubt the 2023/24 season will be popular - talk to your pilot, then register and pay for your registration so you don't miss out on your preferred swim slot.
